The Governmental College Relations Council (GCRC) was founded in Chicago in 1968.  It is a professional association that supports working relationships between representatives from accredited post-secondary colleges/universities and federal, state, county, and local governments.

An Executive Board and Steering Committee govern the organization and reflect the diversity of the membership.  They are made up of both elected and appointed officials from GCRC’s general membership.  The work of the Council is performed by elected officers and committees.  The structure of the Council, within which business is conducted, is directed by the constitution.
